Paramount Pictures Announces Crawl 2 with New Cast and Location

Alexandre Aja is set to return to direct the highly anticipated sequel, Crawl 2, which will feature a fresh cast and a new location. According to THR, Paramount Pictures is gearing up for the production of Crawl 2, set to begin filming in Europe this fall. The first movie, released in 2019, was a gator horror film that grossed $91 million on a $15 million budget and received critical acclaim.

Crawl 2 will see a new group of characters embroiled in a terrifying situation, this time set in the bustling city of New York. The script for the sequel is being penned by Andrew Deutschman and Jason Pagan, known for their work on popular films like Paranormal Activity: The Ghost Dimension and Project Almanac. Aja will also serve as a producer alongside Craig Flores and Sam Raimi, who were involved in the production of the original Crawl.

The original Crawl followed the story of Haley, a young woman played by Kaya Scodelario, who becomes trapped with her father in their flooded family home during a hurricane, only to discover they are not alone. The success of the first movie has paved the way for the long-awaited sequel, Crawl 2, promising fans another thrilling and suspenseful experience.

As details continue to emerge about the plot and cast of Crawl 2, audiences are eagerly anticipating the return of Alexandre Aja to the director's chair for what is sure to be another heart-pounding installment in the horror franchise.
