Analysis of Trump's Falsehoods in Conversation with Elon Musk

In a recent conversation with billionaire Elon Musk on his social media platform X, former President Donald Trump reiterated several inaccurate claims that have become common themes in his speeches and rallies. One of the claims was about an alleged assassination attempt against him at a Pennsylvania rally in July, followed by familiar complaints regarding immigration and criticism of Vice President Kamala Harris.

Fact-checking reveals that Trump inaccurately stated that a chart he presented at the Pennsylvania rally showed the best illegal immigration numbers during his last week in office, which was highly misleading. Additionally, he falsely described Harris as 'the border czar' when her role was to address migration causes in Central America, not border security.

Furthermore, Trump claimed that 20 million people illegally crossed the southern border under President Joe Biden, a number that is overstated. He also made unsubstantiated allegations about other countries transferring immigrants from jails to the United States and falsely attributed a crime decrease in Venezuela to criminals moving to the US.

Another false assertion by Trump was that President Biden shut down the Keystone XL pipeline, which he claimed would have employed 48,000 people. In reality, Biden revoked the pipeline permit, which was estimated to create only 35 permanent jobs. Lastly, Trump inaccurately downplayed the impact of climate change by stating that the ocean's rise would be minimal over the next 400 years, contrary to scientific projections.
